Ko began carrying around a canvas bag full of feathers. She handed them out to her friends.
"So you'll be as light as a feather," she said, as she handed one to her father.
"So you'll be as soft as a feather," she said, as she handed one to the girl next door.
"So you'll be as communicative as a quill," she said, as she handed one to her dog.
"Ko, why do you have feathers?" asked her mother.
"I don't know," said Ko. "I thought it'd be nice."
